Barbara Ann Ricketts

Barbara Ann Ricketts, nee Boswell, of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the age of 82. Beloved wife of the late David W. Ricketts III; cherished daughter of the late John M. and Thelma C. Boswell; devoted mother of M. Candace (Giles) Ricketts-Smith; loving grandmother of Vaughn Powell; dear sister of Lyda Jo Russell. She was affectionately known as “Aunt Barney” to many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by son David W. Ricketts IV, and brothers Robert Boswell and Carlton  Boswell.

Barbara enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a longtime member of ASG Sewing Group. In her younger days she was a great swimmer. Barbara was very social and enjoyed making new friends. She was married for over 50 years to longtime St. Louis Cardinals player and coach, David Ricketts, and she remained active with many former Cardinal players’ wives. Barbara was also active in the 4.5.6 club, and she enjoyed frequenting casinos and traveling around the world. Barbara will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
