Barbara A. Broadfoot

Barbara Anne (nee: Craig) Broadfoot died on Friday, December 9, 2011 of lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her late husband Linn Broadfoot. Barbara is survived by her fiancé Jack McNellis, Prairie Village, Kansas, and her beloved children John and Patricia Broadfoot of Springfield, Illinois, Susan and Frank Thies of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jeff and Kathleen Broadfoot of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mike and Nancy Broadfoot of Boulder, Colorado; her beloved grandchildren: Matt, Nathan and Jenny Broadfoot, Laura and Andy Thies, and Susan, Samantha, and Jack Broadfoot; and her dear sisters, Addie Mae (Harry) Wiggins and Janet Ferlisi. Barbara received her BS and Masters in Education from Lindenwood University and taught for 25 years at Monroe Elementary. Barbara was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Charles, Crusaders Sunday School and the UMW Fanny Crosby Circle. She was a three term President of the St. Charles AAUW, two time President of the Lindenwood University St. Charles Alumni Club, Bridge Builders, DAR, Tuesday Toppers Golf League, and three bridge clubs. She was a Court Appointed Guardian ad Lethem (CASA) and an Oasis tutor at Monroe for 11 years. Barbara would like to thank all her special friends who brightened her life for years and prayed for her. She asked her family to add, "Hopefully I will be smiling down on you!" In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to the First United Methodist Church of St. Charles, the St. Charles Lindenwood University Alumni Scholarship Fund or the American Cancer Society.
