Ava Nell Ward

Ward, Ava Nell of Chesterfield, MO, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017, at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late William Horace Ward; cherished daughter of the late Thomas F. and Grace T. Pope; devoted mother of Shirley Rogers; loving grandmother of Debbie (Tim) Carr, Tim (Lisa) Holland, and Craig (Sheila) Holland; treasured great-grandmother of Mike (Vicki) Carr, Shannon (Chad) Rusher, Jennifer Holland, Nicole Holland, Felisha (Aaron) Aycock, and Branden Holland; dear great-great grandmother of Mason, Ryan, Easton, and Aubrey. Ava is also preceded in death by her brothers Willis (Ann) Pope, George (Inez) Pope, and Glen Pope, and her son-in-law Claude Gano Rogers.

Ava loved being in the outdoors, working in her garden and tending her beautiful flowers. In previous years, she enjoyed sewing, and loved making clothes for her grandchildren. Nothing gave her as much joy however, as spending time with her beloved family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. Ava was deeply loved and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
