Autry L. Griffin

Autry Lee Griffin, 86 of Weldon Springs, Missouri passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at his home. He was born in Naylor, Missouri on November 10, 1939 to Norman and Ruby (nee Mitchell) Griffin. He graduated from Naylor High School in 1957.

Shortly after graduation Autry and his high school sweetheart bride, Polly, moved to St Louis and Autry went to work for General Motors. Forty-three years later, in 2001, Autry retired from General Motors with most of his service at the GM Wentzville Assembly Center. During his GM employment, he was an active member of UAW Local #2250.

In the early years of retirement, Autry enjoyed yardwork and making trips with his son, Jeffery, to “the country” – that is, back to his stomping grounds near the family home outside of Poplar Bluff. He had many activities during the later years of retirement: an accomplished oil painting artist, countless hours on the computer creating and editing family movies, listening to his favorite music and watching his beloved Cardinals or ANY football game on TV.

Autry will forever be remembered by his son, Jeffery, his sister, Carolyn & husband, Jim Killerlain, his nieces, Rita Griffin, Gena Oliver, and Sheila Theerman and his grand nephews, Adrian & wife, Kelsey and Isaac & wife, Alison. He will be remembered by many other friends and family members.

Autry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Norman and Ruby Griffin, his wife Polly, and his brother Charles Griffin & wife, Della.

Services will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Baue Funeral Home, Cave Springs, 3950 W Clay St., St Charles with the visitation at 11:30 and service following at 1:30 with Edward Tritschler officiating.
