August "Ted" Schauwecker

August “Ted” Schauwecker, of Troy, MO, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Patricia “Pat” Schauwecker; cherished son of the late August (the late Mary Lee) Schauwecker and the late Mary (the late Roger) Buerges; devoted father of Sarah (Scott) Snofke, Theo Schauwecker and Rachael (Ben) Schmidt; loving grandfather of Alex, Charlotte and Noah; dear brother of the late August “Gus” (Pam) Schauwecker, the late Francis O’Laughlin, Tim O’Laughlin and Karl (Connie) Schauwecker.

Ted was a huge soccer fan, an avid hunter, and a history buff, with a particular interest in war history. He enjoyed watching the History Channel, spending time at the Lake of the Ozarks, and playing a casual round of golf. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met a stranger, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome.

Ted loved his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed coaching soccer for his children, creating countless memories along the way. His passion for the things he loved, and his genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ted was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Memorials may be made in August's name to Wounded Warrior Project.
