Audrey L. McCartney

McCartney, Audrey L. (NEE: Zucchini), of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, died on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 87. Loving wife of the late George Hugh McCartney; beloved daughter of the late Joseph (Katherine Kinney) Zucchini and the late Irene (Rodman) Zucchini Morgan; devoted mother of Michael (Martha) McCartney, John (Leslie) McCartney, Ann (Tom) Pappas, and Kay McCartney Shirley; adoring grandmother of Kim, Greg, Katherine, Joe, Ray, and Mariah. She is preceded in death by her grandson John Michael McCartney. Audrey was born deaf and learned to read lips. She also loved reading books and arranging flowers. She was a Eucharistic minister and volunteered in the food pantry at St. Jerome. She loved Cardinals baseball, but most of all, she loved her family - a great mom with a sweet smile and a contagious laugh. The family wishes to sincerely thank all the caregivers who helped over the last few years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Institute for the Deaf. www.cid.edu
