Arthur Louis Ebbesmeyer

Beloved husband of Joan Ebbesmeyer; loving father of Connie Cantone (Philip), Beth Brooks (Craig), and Arden Green; proud grandfather of Nick, Mike, Andrew, Danny, Beth Anne, Jack, Nathan, Ben, Brandon and Elizabeth; dear brother of Walter Ebbesmeyer, S.M. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by parents Louis and Mayme Ebbesmeyer, maternal grandparents Theodore and Mary Keeven, and brother Dr. James Ebbesmeyer. Mr. Ebbesmeyer went Sacred Heart Elementary School in Florissant, and Maryhurst Normal High School in Kirkwood. Mr. Ebbesmeyer went to University of Dayton, Ohio where he received a BS in Education in August 1941 and he went to graduate school at University of Missouri where he received a masters in School Administration in August 1960. He was a member of Brothers of Mary from 1934-1945. He taught in Detroit, Michigan from 1941-1942, Chaminade summer camp in 1942, and South Side Catholic High School-All American school newspaper (now St. Mary's High School, St. Louis). He was a passenger agent at Trans World Airlines 1945-46. He taught at St. Peters High School (now Duschene 1946-1949) where he was a baseball coach and did the inaugurate school newspaper; Civic Memorial High in Bethalto, IL 1949-52, where he was a drama coach and director of Student Council; Boys Town of MO, where he was director of education, participated in special services, recreation, coaching basketball, track and softball; St. Patricks Elementary in Rolla 1987-1992 where he was Principal. He retired in July, 1992 after 49 years as and educator and administrator. He was involved in sports where he was a coach and participated in regulation league softball, both fast and slow pitch, bowling, including league championships, including hole in one St. James.
