Arthur Clifton “Cliff” Murrell, of St. Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Georgia Murrell; beloved son of the late Novie and Irene Murrell; devoted father of Michael (Nora) Murrell and Sandy (Tom) Drohr; cherished grandfather of Aiden & Garrett Drohr and Tiernan & Alice Murrell; dear brother of Norma Jean Riley, Geraldine (Don) Hover, Anna (LW) Gregory, Clayton (Kathy) Murrell; brother-in-law of Carl Wagner; beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. Arthur is also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Murrell; and sister, Mary Wagner.
Cliff began his long career at McDonnell Douglas - Boeing as a janitor. As he advanced in the company he put himself through college while raising his family and working. Cliff (“Mr. IFF”) became a world leading expert on transponder systems and testified before Congress on the subject. He retired from Boeing after 48 years of dedicated service as a level 6 Systems Engineer. Cliff proudly served in the United States Navy Reserves as an Aircraft Radio Operator. He was a skilled woodworker and could fix most anything. He loved planes and was an avid bowler and camper. His greatest passion was his family, especially his grandchildren. Cliff was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
