Anna Maude (Ann) White of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2018, at the age of 101; Beloved daughter of the late Ivo and the Edith Frasier Sherwood; She was born on January 22, 1917 in Huntsville, MO. Anna was the Loving wife of Cleo W White; devoted mother of Linda (Robert) McCullough, CV (Margaret Ann) White & John D White. She was preceded in death by husband, brothers & sister: Carlene (Claude) Tyler, Vincent (Florence) Sherwood, and John Sherwood. Anna has six grandchildren; Bruce (Michelle), Douglas (Frances) McCullough, Mary Flotte, Elizabeth (John) Young, Julie White, David (Vanessa) White. Fifteen great grandchildren: Natalie (Shane) Goodall, Nick & Benjamin McCullough, Stephen (Lindsay) McCullough, Eric McCullough, Lauren Flotte, Lindsay, David Flotte, Sara, Kelcie, Carly Young, Andy & Joe Santarelli, Taylor & Jacob White; three great great grandchildren Brook, Emma & Keaton.
Anna was a graduate of Huntsville, MO high school & attended NE MO State Teachers College. Anna met & Married her husband while in Kirksville on October 24th 1937. After receiving her teaching certificate she taught a few years at a country one room school prior to moving to Hannibal in 1941. In Hannibal she taught elementary grades at Mills Creek School & Hannibal School District for 36 years. She continued her education there & received her BS in Education from Culver–Stockton College in 1962. After retirement, Anna & Cleo were principal care givers to her mother & Father in Huntsville until their deaths. Anna was a member of the Hannibal Presbyterian Church.
After the passing of her husband in 1993 she moved to O’Fallon, MO in 2000. She continued her friendships in Hannibal while building another family of friends in the greater St Louis area & actively participated with her growing family in many locations. She attended the Corner Stone Methodist Church in O’Fallon & continued her church membership in Hannibal. Her joy was being with her family & friends for all celebrations & enjoyed tours & travels.
She will be missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
