Anna Mae Forbis

Anna Mae Forbis (nee Smith), of Steelville, MO, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late William Forbis; cherished daughter of the late Ernest and Lena Mae Smith; devoted mother of Linda (Michael) Simpson; loving grandmother of Lyn (Aaron) Cronk and Michelle (Ryan) Petras; treasured great-grandmother of Samantha (Kenny) Allred, Karlie Cronk and Abigail Petras; great-great-grandmother of Parker Smith, Evelynn Allred and one on the way; dear sister of the late Ernest Smith, II, the late Donald Smith and the late Peggy Johnson. 

Anna Mae, a compassionate and talented woman, dedicated 14 years as a nurse aide, offering care and kindness to those in need. She was a gifted seamstress who created beautiful works of art. Anna Mae adored her grandchildren, passing on her love of baking to them, and her favorite time of year was Christmas, which she cherished for the joy of gathering with loved ones. 

A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, Anna Mae never missed a game and cheered passionately for her team. Known for her incredible kindness and warm personality, she made friends everywhere she went. Anna Mae's legacy of love and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. 

Anna Mae was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Memorials may be made in Anna Mae's name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
