Anna Belle Breitenstein

Anna Belle Breitenstein, of St Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late John Breitenstein; cherished daughter of the late James Arthur and Anna Ramsey. Devoted mother of Colleen Breitenstein and Laurie Breitenstien; Son-in-Law, Peter Allan Fehrenbach; loving grandmother of Julia Ramsey (Peter) Baldwin, Anne Stark Fehrenbach, Laura Bakewell (Christopher) McHargue, John Morgan Bakewell, John Alejandro Breitenstein, and Joseph Manuel Breitenstein; treasured great-grandmother of Richard Henry Baldwin, Pierce Fitzgerald Baldwin, and Annabelle Marie Baldwin; dear sister of James Arthur (Loretta) Ramsey. Preceded in death by two daughters, Annette Marie Fehrenbach and Janice M. Bakewell; brother, William Ramsey; two sisters, Merium Walton and Edna Riehl.

Anna Belle was born April 4, 1929, in Graniteville, Missouri, an area she loved and visited often, including her beloved Elephant Rocks. She was the 1946 valedictorian of Caledonia High School where she played volleyball, softball, and other sports. She moved to St. Louis after high school where she worked in the accounting office for Missouri Pacific Railroad.

She and John moved to St. Charles in 1956 and joined the First United Methodist Church. Anna served her church in numerous capacities throughout her life, including driving the church van, Ladies Circle, and McAdams Class. She also volunteered for numerous organizations including American Cancer Society, St. Louis Apheresis Center, PTA, and as a Girl Scout Leader. After having children, she was a devoted stay at home mom. Anna Belle was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by friends, family, and the community.
