In Loving Memory of Ann M. Buelow
Ann Margaret Buelow, 59, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away peacefully at 12:08 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO.
She was born on February 9, 1966, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Marlin S. and Anna Marie Buelow. She married Nicole Wayland on September 9, 2018. They were together for 17 years.
Ann was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau and earned an Engineering degree from University of Missouri, Rolla. She retired from AT&T in 2022 after 25 years of service. She was an avid softball player who made many friends from the numerous teams she played on over the years. She was known for her competitive spirit and contagious enthusiasm.
Ann was giving of her time and talents through many organizations, including Special Olympics of Missouri, Eureka Fire Search and Rescue, MERS Large Animal Rescue, the American Red Cross, Dogs on Duty therapy canines and many other special causes.
Ann’s love of animals enlarged her family immensely. She rescued many cats and dogs. She helped transport special needs goats across the country to a sanctuary. She and Nicole spent countless hours training dogs for search and rescue, pet therapy and dock diving. Their house was full and their hearts were especially open to animals with special needs.
Ann had many interests including gardening, cooking, collecting fine wines and bourbons, traveling, trivia nights and having a good time. Ann was one of those rare people that made life louder, funnier and more honest by just walking into a room. She was full of life and unapologetic about being exactly who she was. She was the kind of friend everyone hopes to have.
She is survived by her wife Nicole Wayland, her father Marlin Buelow of Cape Girardeau, MO, two brothers Mark (Gail) Buelow of Kearney, MO and Kevin (Trish) Buelow of Cape Girardeau, MO, father-in-law Dale Wayland of Normal, IL and sister-in-law Holly (Dustin) Hall of Normal, IL. She is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews Katie (Liam), Will (Faith), Andrew (Emilie), Tyler, Madison, Brayden, Alayna and Kaylann, a great-nephew Henry and a great-niece Alice Margaret. Ann was proceeded in death by her mother Anna Marie Buelow and mother-in-law Teresa Wayland.
Donations in Ann’s memory may be made to one of the following charities which were close to her heart: Heartland Humane Society, MERS Large Animal Rescue, Goats of Anarchy.
