Andrew “Andy” D. Zerr, of Wright City, MO, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at the age of 61. Cherished son of the late Kenneth and Phyllis Zerr; devoted father of Ashley (Brian) Zerr-Kozlowski and Fallon (TJ) Savage; loving Pappy of Wyatt, Adalynne, Johnny, Lexi and Ally; dear brother of Brenda (Karl) Hillmann and Lori (Alvin Nelson) Ament; cherished uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. Andy is also survived by the mother of his children and former wife of 34 years, Carla Taylor.
Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, creativity, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family. A proud tradesman, Andy dedicated more than 40 years to the construction industry and was a member of Painters Local 1156. He took great pride in working with his hands, and there was very little he couldn't design, fix, or create. A true jack of all trades and a lifelong learner, Andy approached every challenge with skill.
Beyond his trade, Andy was a gifted artist who expressed himself through beautiful paintings, detailed drawings, and heartfelt poetry. Andy found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether hunting in "The Woods," casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying nature, he felt most at home surrounded by God's creation. He also loved football and cooking a delicious meal on the grill.
Andy had a remarkable gift for making people smile. Known by many nicknames throughout his life, he will always be remembered for his warm bear hugs, contagious belly laughs, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor. His generous spirit, loving heart, and ability to brighten any room left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Andy was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
Although not a veteran, as a patriot he was very proud of his country and supported the many veterans that served. The family wishes to have memorial donations in Andy’s name made out to Wounded Warriors.
