Alvira Emma Schlueter

Schlueter, Alvira E., of O'Fallon, died on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the age of 89. Loving wife of the late Edward H. Schlueter; dear daughter of the late Herman and Annie Meyerhoff; devoted mother of Lorna (Robert) Roellig and Judy (Keith) Jenkins; cherished grandmother of Tammy (Mark) Hayes, Dustin Roellig, Megan Roellig, and Robert Roellig; and treasured great-grandmother of Leon Etherton, Cody Etherton, and Toni Etherton. She is preceded in death by her sister Selma Mueller, and brothers Norman and Robert Meyerhoff.
Alvira was a social butterfly and extremely involved in the church. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She tied quilts at church for the homeless and made Braille books for the blind. She loved puzzles, quilting, bingo, fishing, bowling and gardening, but most of all she loved her grandkids.
Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, Leukemia Foundation or Special Olympics.
