Alice Tierney, Age 98
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alice Faye Tierney (nee Hitchcock) announces her passing on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at age 98. She was a kind person with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. Her spirit will forever brighten our lives.
Born in Mystic, Iowa on April 6, 1927 to the late James and Myrtle Hitchcock, she built a life rich in love, first in Iowa and then in Missouri. Alice resided in St. Charles with her late husband, Francis, for over 40 years but later made her home in Chesterfield, MO.
Alice was the loving mother to Linda (Harry) Hoeing, Sheryl (Jim) Decker, and Shelly (Randy) Poppell. She was preceded in death by Francis, her loving husband of 51 years, her son Ron Lee, daughter Marlene Sue (Lowell) Hogg, and 7 siblings. Alice will be fondly remembered by her 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great- grandchildren, her treasured extended family (the Tracers), nieces and nephews, and cherished friends.
Alice was a woman of many talents and passions. When she wasn't on a road trip or one of her many cruises with Francis, she could be found at her sewing machine creating a set of Raggedy Ann and Andy's or one of her famous sock monkeys. She loved her time with family the most but also enjoyed reading, coloring, and puzzle books. Alice was a religious woman who loved attending church weekly and singing her favorite hymns.
The family invites all who were touched by Alice's warmth to join them in a Celebration of Life to be held on March 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Baue Funeral Home in Cave Springs, MO.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Alice's name to Our Savior Lutheran Church in St. Charles, MO.
