Alice Laverna Smith

St. Peters – Alice Laverna Smith, 85 passed away at 12:00 PM, Sunday, February 11, 2024.   

She was born on May 8, 1938, in St. Charles, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late James William and Winnie Helena (Kite) Malson of West Alton, Missouri. 

Alice married Earl Joseph Smith on October 28, 1978, in West Alton, Missouri and for over 18 years worked alongside each other at the Boschert John Deere Dealership in St. Charles, Missouri. 

Throughout Earl and Alice’s 35 years of marriage, they enjoyed camping, traveling the country and southern gospel concerts. They treasured their memories and never met a stranger, meeting new friends along the way. 

Surviving are three stepchildren, Diane Wheeler of St. Peters, Missouri, Duane Smith of West Alton, Missouri, and Scott Smith of St. Peters, Missouri. Two grandchildren Katherine (Brian) Turntine, of Lake St. Louis and Ellie Smith of O’Fallon, Missouri. Three great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Emily and Wyatt Turntine; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. 

In addition to her parents and her husband; she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Emil, Albert and Curtis James Malson; four sisters Mary Grow, Annie Malson, Viola Hinkel, and Evelyn Seehausen. 

Visitation will be from 9 AM to 11AM, Monday, February 19, 2024 at Baue Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.  Reverent Lynn Davenport will officiate the funeral service and Alice will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Baue Cemetery in St. Peters.
