Alberta Vivian Jenkins, née Freeman, of St. Peters, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 98.
Beloved wife of the late William Lee Jenkins, Alberta was the cherished daughter of the late Roy Lee and Anna Freeman. She was the devoted mother of Carey Ruth (Scott) Van Matre, proud grandmother of Scott (Sara) Van Matre II, and adoring great-grandmother to Vivian Jean Van Matre.
A woman of immense talent and creativity, Alberta was an accomplished artist and seamstress. Her hands brought beauty into the world through her love of quilting, baking, and sewing.
Among her many loving contributions to family life, one of her proudest moments was baking the wedding cake for her daughter — a true labor of love. She lovingly leaves behind many exquisite handmade quilts — lasting treasures of her skill and heart.
Alberta shared a rich and joyful life with her husband William. Together, they found great satisfaction in tending their vegetable garden and nurturing fruit trees. Each year, they took pride in canning their harvest and sharing the fruits of their labor with family and friends. Alberta also had a deep love for flowers, and her garden was always a place of color, life, and beauty.
She cherished time spent with her family, including her three sisters, two brothers, and the many beloved relatives of her husband William. Alberta's legacy is one of love, creativity, and quiet strength — a life well lived and deeply appreciated by all who knew her.
