Alan Dale Neifert, 85, went to Heaven on the evening of November 2. He fought a long battle with dementia, diabetes and heart issues but now is at peace. Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Nancy Ruth Neifert (nee Hoss), his son, Steven Dale Neifert, his siblings, Barbara Miller and James Neifert. Alan was born June 15, 1938, in Centerville, IA to Burnice and Harold Neifert, both deceased; his brother, Duane, also is deceased. Alan is a special uncle and great uncle.
He graduated from Mexico, MO High School, went on to become a Policeman and later joined the Army. He then moved to St. Charles, MO where he joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol where he held many positions, retiring in 1997 as Chief of Motor Vehicle Inspection. The day after retiring from the MSHP, Alan began serving as a Security Officer for the newly opened Harrah's Casino. Alan enjoyed all sports and belonged to Bogey Hills Country Club where he won several golf trophies. He also was President of his bowling league for many years.
