Airdrie Mireylees Larson (nee: Reid), of Washington, MO, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Vernon D. Larson; cherished daughter of the late Hal and Hilda Reid; devoted mother of Robert Larson, Sue Heitz, and Vicki (Ken) Burton; loving grandmother of Heather Wood, Brittany Burton, and Ashley (Alex) McGuire; treasured great-grandmother of Jagger Wood; and dear sister of the late Andrew Reid.
Airdrie was originally from Melbourne, Australia, where she met her husband while he was serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was a lifelong member of the Daughters of the British Empire of Missouri. She was also a docent at The Oakland House in Affton, MO. She enjoyed fashion, and received a degree in Fashion Design while living in Australia. She cherished the arts, especially painting, and visiting museums and libraries. She was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
Airdrie’s favorite prayer was the famous benediction of Robert Schuller… And now may the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. And may God give you His peace in your going out and in your coming in, in your lying down and in your rising up, in your labor and in your leisure, in your laughter and in your tears… Until you come to stand before Jesus in that day in which there is no sunset and no dawning. Amen.
