Zachary Michael Niehoff, of Saint Charles, MO, Thursday May 4, 2017, at the age of 29. Beloved son of Michael Lynn and Crystal Gay Niehoff; nephew of Bradley S. (Michelle) Niehoff and Greta M, (Kurt) Andrews; loving cousin, fellow scout and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Christopher Michael Niehoff, and grandparents Richard E. and Bernice M. Niehoff, Clyde F. and Alice M. Schaffer, and aunt, Karen Shirley.
Zachary attended Immanuel Lutheran School, St. Charles High School and St. Charles Community College. As a child he enjoyed and was very active in Boy Scouts. Zachary excelled in outdoor activities, earning the Eagle Scout award in 2005. He served on the BSA summer camp staff for two years at S-F Scout Ranch and Beaumont Scout Reservation. When he turned 18 years of age, Zachary joined Sea Scouts earning the Ranger Award, the Venturing Silver Award and the Quartermaster Award. He was very active in the Order of the Arrow as a Brotherhood member and was Arrowman of the Year in 2008. While a scout Zachary backpacked the Great Smokey Mountains, Sangre De Cristo Mountains at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, sailed the Florida Keys at Sea Base and attended the Boy Scout National Jamboree in Virginia.
Zachary was also active in his Christian community at Immanuel Lutheran Church, attending two servant events in Idaho and Colorado, and the 2004 National Youth Gathering in Orlando, FL. He was a member of the Niedner Handbell Choir, Joyful Sound Choir and participated in the Immanuel Boars Head Festival.
In his leisure time, Zachary enjoyed long-distance running as a member of the Cross Country Team at Immanuel for four years and St. Charles High School for four years. He also ran the Spirit of St. Louis Art and Soul Half Marathon in 2005. He enjoyed bowling in the US Bowling Conference youth bowler league, and sailing in his Laser sailboat at Creve Coeur Lake.
Zachary made new friends wherever he went, was always ready to lend a helping hand and always wore a smile. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
