William R. Burch of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of 46 wonderful years to Sally Burch (nee Howard); cherished son of the late Theodore Roy Burch and Dorothy Fay Burch; devoted father of William Theodore "Ted" (Jill) Burch, Scott Louis (Jennifer) Burch, and Bradley Thomas (Erin) Burch; loving grandfather of Blake, Madison, Henry, Lindi, Matthew, Lola, and Lucy; dear brother of Linda Wilkins; treasured uncle of Christy (Tray) Ivie, Michael (Betsey) Marischen, and Elizabeth (Josh) Roberts, and great-uncle of Ben, Grace, Emma, Isaac, Harper, and Isla. He was also blessed with numerous special friendships over the years, including many friends who were as close as second children to him.
Bill dedicated many years of his working life to his career in Tool and Die, as did his father before him. He also worked many years as a Machinist, working as a foreman at the time of his retirement, and was a proud member of the Machinist Union, District 9. He was devout in his faith and a long-time parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church. Bill kept very active and loved the outdoors, and in his free time would often camp, fish, or spend time on the water in his boat. His favorite destination was his property on the Bourbeuse River, where he spent many joy filled days making memories with his family. Another favorite pastime was working on cars, and in his younger days Bill also enjoyed drag racing. Bill will be remembered as a dear and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, and was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
If desired, Masses may be offered in William’s memory.
