William M. "Bill" Felty, Jr., 59, formerly of Jackson, passed away at home Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in O'Fallon, Mo.
He was born February 13, 1958, in Cape Girardeau Missouri, to William M. and Genece Sawyer Felty. He was a 1976 graduate of Jackson High School. He and Ella Dye were married June 19, 1982.
Bill was an assistant professor of accounting at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis. He was a member of Sunrise United Methodist Church in O'Fallon, Gideons International in Wentzville, Missouri, AICPA, and MOCPA. He loved music, the outdoors, hiking, biking, traveling, coin collecting and teaching. He was happiest spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Ella Felty of O’Fallon; a son Daniel Felty of Jefferson City, Missouri; his mother, Genece (the late William "Bill") Felty, Sr.; a brother, Richard Felty of Cape Girardeau; loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill, Sr.; grandparents, Robert and Hazel Sawyer and Webster and Olive Felty; and mother-in-law Margie Dye.
A second visitation will be held from 10 AM to service time, Saturday, July 15, 2017, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be held as 11 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Blue officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery near Millersville, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or Gideons International.
