Velma Lee Vogt

November 2, 1930 — October 1, 2019

Velma Vogt of St Charles, Missouri passed away Tuesday October 1, 2019 at the age of 88.  Loving wife of 68 years to Melvin “Mel” Vogt; Beloved daughter of the late Edward and Selena Wolf; Velma and Mel met at St Charles High School in 1947 and have enjoyed 72 years together.  Velma and Mel have two children, daughter Lynnett Marie Vogt-Bronson and son Michael Vogt.

 Velma Vogt was preceded in death by her daughter Lynnett Marie Vogt-Bronson on September 11, 2019, sisters Sylvia Kneemiller, Gladys Barklage, Esther Torbitzky, brothers Edward Wolf, Winston Wolf, Kenneth Wolf.

 Velma is survived by her beloved husband Melvin Vogt, her son Michael (Vicki) Vogt their 6 children, granddaughter Christina (Christopher) Jones and great grandchildren Anikca and Ethan, grandson Ryan (Jillian) Vogt and great grandchildren Emerson, Ansley and Charlotte, granddaughter Natalie (Bobby) Black great grand daughter Paige, granddaughter Carissa (Nick Davison) Zettel and great grandchildren Nixon and Roxy, granddaughter Tabitha (Ben) Toebben and great grandchildren Lily and Emma and granddaughter Rebecca Zettel.

 Velma is survived by her late daughter Lynett Marie Vogt Bronson’s husband Reid Thomas Bronson,  grandson Reid Charles (Shawna) Bronson and great granddaughter Collins Bronson.

Velma and Mel worked together at the Strand theater through high school.  Velma and Mel enjoyed entertaining family and friends at their home. They celebrated life with so many friends and planned annual trips to the Lake of the Ozarks with a group as large as 30.  As the years passed Velma would often comment on the groups size getting smaller and smaller and often telling Mel “There are only a few couples left”.  Velma enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, bowling, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.  She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and her many friends and loved spending time with them sharing stories.  Velma enjoyed watching the Cardinal baseball games and the football games with Mel and Mel would watch the Bold and the Beautiful because Velma loved that soap.  Velma thought of everyone and was always there for anyone at anytime.

Velma was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Velma’s name to the Cancer Association.
