To Va’s family, I grew up in Overland and enjoyed my time spent with the many professional Overland Police Officers.
Val was always kind and always had time.
The last time I saw Val was at Cosco in St. Peter’s, Mo. I stopped and spoke with him for a few moments and it brought back many memories of when he ran around Overland in the 3 wheeled Cushman Scooter..
May he Rest In Peace after serving the community he truly loved.

Val was one of the very best to wear the uniform and serve the citizens of Overland. He was a great friend and mentor and will be missed. I will always remember his sly smile and snicker when he talked to me. Prayers to his family.

I spoke with Val just a few months ago by phone. Before he met Carol, he and my dad – his maternal uncle Fred Wagner – used to go on fishing trips and such. So, I’m his other first cousin, the one who lives down in Texas. Over the years, we’ve had the chance to cross paths and touch base occasionally. A super nice guy who deserves our admiration and respect, my wife and I will miss him, too.
