Thomas J. Norwood

Thomas J. Norwood, of Eolia, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Alice M. Norwood; cherished son of the late Leland and Mae Norwood; devoted father of Patricia Norwood, Richard Kennison, Renee (Brian) Walker, Joan (Leo) Skaggs, Bryan (Michelle) Kennison, and Jason (Jennifer) Norwood; loving grandfather of Joy, Lacey, Book, Zoë, Nadia, Teá, Kayla, Danny, Dustin, Dylan, Sarah, Erik, Dominic, Lexi, and Tommy; treasured great-grandfather of 6; dear brother of Margaret (Billy) Stultz; and cherished brother-in-law of Glenn Akins.

He was also preceded in death by his children, Kevin Norwood, John T. Norwood, and Marty L. Kennison, and his siblings, James Norwood and Marion Akins.

Thomas retired from General Motors after over 50 years of service as a Tool and Die Worker. He also had a passion for the beauty of a classic American car, and enjoyed restoring older vehicles to their former glory. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Bowling Green, and worked hard throughout his life to create a beautiful and peaceful home in the country, where he and his beloved wife could spend their retirement together. His devotion to his wife and family was without limit, and his marriage of over 35 years served as an example to his children of what “true love” really looked like.  Thomas will be remembered as a treasured husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
