Thomas E. “Tom” Gonwa

Gonwa, Thomas Edward of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away Monday May 6, 2018, at the age of 62 Years.
Beloved husband of Peggy Gonwa; cherished son of Robert Gonwa and the late Elizabeth Gonwa; devoted father of Amy (Mark) Florida, and Thomas (Holly) John Gonwa; loving grandfather of Josh, Evan, Mary, Parker, Sloane, Lily, and Charlotte; dear brother of Mary (Mike) Mack, Robert (Carol) Gonwa, Cathy (William) Lapp, and William Gonwa; dear brother-in-Law, Robert (Nancy Miller) Hansen. Tom is preceded in death by his sister Jeannie Gonwa. Loving uncle and friend to many.
Tom grew up in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, and was a graduate of Menomonee Falls East High School, class of 1973. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1977. Following graduation, he worked as a sales representative for companies including William Barry in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Chicago, as well as Members Only, Hart Schaffner Marx, and Swatch in Minneapolis and St. Louis. He also completed the computer career program with Maryville University-St. Louis. For 20 years preceding his retirement, Tom was a property and casualty adjuster for Crawford & Company in the St. Louis area, specializing in liability claims. During his tenure with Crawford, Tom earned his Associate in Claims (AIC) and Casualty General Adjuster (CGA) designations. Tom was an avid triathlete and participated in the Lake Saint Louis triathlon for several years, placing second in his age group in 2016. Tom was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
