Terry Wayne Bachman, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the age of 79.  Loving husband of the late Mary Alice Bachman; beloved son of the late Clarence and Luella Bachman; devoted father of Scott Wayne (Margaret) Bachman, the late Kristina Ann Bachman, Leslie Deanne Wittmaier, and Jennifer Ann Burgess; cherished grandfather of Logan Wayne Bachman, Jack Michael Bachman, Tommy Handlang, Jessica Handlang, Luke Daniel Wittmaier, Emma Marie Wittmaier, and Gracie Mary Alice Burgess; dear special love of Sharon Zach; dearest brother of Ronald (Patricia) Bachman, Jay (the late Dolores) Bachman, and brother-in-law of Joyce Bachman; and caring uncle "father," of Steve (Cindy) Duello.

Terry is also preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Bachman and Luewanna (Elmer "Red") Duello.

Terry proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the IUEC Local 3 for 53 years, and he retired after more than 32 years in the Elevator industry.

Terry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he loved to spoil all of them.  He enjoyed the winter months in Florida at Ft. Meyers Beach every year with Sharon.  He looked forward to going boating on the Mississippi River with friends and family.  He was also quite talented at water skiing and was very proud of making it to the top of the pyramid.

Terry enjoyed working out in the yard and tending to his lawn.  He also liked swing dancing, and listening to old time Rock n' Roll.  He was a fun-loving and good-natured man who made friends wherever he went.  He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terry's name to Alzheimer's Association.

We are so sorry to hear about Terry. We met your mom and dad and all you kids out on the sandbar in the late 70’s. Came down from Fort Madison, Iowa for a weeks vacation. We have great memories of all our boating fun. He was a great friend and will be missed by everyone.

Uncle Terry was truly one of the kindest, sweetest men you will ever meet. He had a heart of gold and would go the extra mile to help out anyone who needed it. He was a caring brother to LueWanna and took such good care of her as her health declined. He has helped us in countless ways to restore Red and LueWanna’s Florida home and I think they would be very happy if they saw it. He spent countless hours of his vacation-retirement hours working on a house that needed lots of attention after the passing of Red and LueWanna. Uncle Terry invited us on many boat trips and always included our grandchildren too. They have some fun memories. Yesterday was Easter and it brought back memories of family gatherings at his house where he always had a huge, delicious ham baking in the oven. No one can bake a ham as good as his! I loved his sparkling eyes and his cute little laugh and will miss his gentle ways. If you spent any time with Uncle Terry I am sure you would agree with us, it was time well spent!

Cindy and I loved your Dad very much and we enjoyed all the time that we were fortunate to spend with him. He was a very important part of my life, my entire life, and a huge part who I am today. In addition to being my uncle he was like a father and a brother to me and that relationship will always hold a special place in my heart. People tell me all the time that I look like Terry, walk like Terry and act like Terry and that makes me super proud. I love the photo you selected for his obituary, he was a handsome guy and quite a personality! Rest In Peace Terry and thank you for making us part of your life.

Terry was a gentle soul and we are going to miss him so much! Many years ago Steve and Terry met at a swing on FMBeach and from that day forward they were buds!! Then one day Terry said to me, you have to meet my Sharon you will love her❤️and of course today we are very good friends!!The four of us became great friends, we visited back an forth after we each left a Florida for our homes! Our fondest memories to this day was our houseboat excursions to Grafton Harbor with Captain Terry at the wheel with that smile and those eyes‼️Our hope was to get there one more time, but the Lord needed Terry and so we now will cherish those memories even more❤️Terry, we love you and will miss you forever…rest in peace 🙏🏻
