Stella Mastroianni of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away at the age of 86 on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Louis Mastroianni; beloved daughter of the late James and Stella Jackels; devoted mother of Mark (Judy) Mastroianni, Michele Mastroianni, Matthew (Beverly) Mastroianni, and Martin (Vanessa) Mastroianni; cherished grandmother of 16 and great-grandmother of 30. Stella was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ellen Harvey and Anna Mae Maier.
Stella had a creative spirit and loved to paint, work on landscapes and sketches, and was still working on oil-based portraits. This creative side of her extended also to her knitting projects where she made fantastic scarves and afghan blankets for her family. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens around the house.
Stella loved spending time outdoors and always looked forward to camping trips with her husband. They loved to travel in their RV to Missouri and Illinois State Parks. They also enjoyed visiting other interesting places and seeing new sites. The trip they made to New England was one of their favorites. Stella’s love of nature extended to her joy for bird watching, and she kept up with the various species in her area by reading the Missouri Conservationist.
Stella will be remembered for being kindhearted and having a loving nature. She was always there for her family and friends. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions may be made in Stella’s name to the
