Karniski, Shirley Mae (nee: Hobein), of Hazelwood, MO, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the age of 80. Loving wife of the late Arthur James Karniski; beloved daughter of the late Edward and Luella Hobein; devoted mother of Allen (Connie) Karniski, Sandra (Joseph) Pagano, and Christine (Dean) Buffington; cherished grandmother of Daryl (Melody) Smith, Leo Pagano, and Philip Pagano; treasured great-grandmother of Carter Smith, Dayton Pagano, Morgan Smith, Leah Pagano, and Hailey Smith; dear sister of Jack (Marilyn) Hobein, Barbara Morris, Bill Hobein, and Bob (Kathy) Hobein; sister-in-law of Jim Lopiccolo; loving aunt, cousin, sister-in-law and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her grandson Daniel Smith and siblings Edward, Lawrence, and Lois. Shirley's greatest enjoyments in life was playing cards, singing, and playing the ukulele with her family and friends.

    i recall taking that picture at the gluttens and she was so funny she did not want her kids to know she was having pictures for them. we took a few maybe 25 or 30 LOL and she did not like any of them although she was a beautiful women and so were the pics…LOL she always had a hug and kind words for me and will be missed…

    Sandy, You know I understand what you have been and are going through. I am praying for you and your family. Just remember she is at peace-it is the thing that has helped me the most with my Mom’s passing. xox

    Such a beautiful woman inside and out. So many great memories singing with the ukulele but most of all taking all the guys money playing poker in Pacific staying up all night long an making breakfast for the crew before we’d start another day of fun…Gonna miss you Aunt Shirley but know that your in a much better place now

    Shirley I was very surprised when Barb called today, we were great neighbors and had so much fun together from 1960 t o ’95 you were a joy to be with and I’m so glad you were our neighbor. Glad there is no more pain only to enjoy the blessed peace while your GODS helper in watching over all of us. Say hello to Ken when you see him. Rest in Peace…with love.

    I remember Aunt Shirley as a fun loving, full of life person who was always a joy to be around. She and Uncle Art were devoted to each other and their family. Will always remember them with love and an important part of my youth.

    We remember Aunt Shirley as the fun person who always made everyone happy. We will miss her dearly and know that she is in a much better place with her family and friends that have passed on into the Kingdom of Heaven!
