Beloved wife of Robert Shelker; cherished daughter of the late William and Jesse Schraer; Devoted mother of Donna Shelker and Deborah (Charles) Pimentel; loving grandmother of Jordan and Madison Pimentel; dear sister of Dollie Pansky and the late Della Werges; step-sister of Laverne (the late Arthur) Barnett; treasured aunt of Kenneth (Joanne) Werges, Barbara (Christopher) Downey, and Diane Pansky. Ruth was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Girl Scout leader when her girls were young. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, with a caring and easy-going personality. She was always smiling. Ruth is lovingly remembered by her family, as the “neighborhood mom” as all the kids always went to her house to play. candle 4Ruth was a “neighbor” to my dad Jack at Delmar and ironically they both made it to 85 and both went to Heaven on the same day! I’m sorry for your loss and thank you for posting on my dad’s site as well. God bless both of our families during this difficult time.

I have know the Shelker family for about the last 20 years. My recollection of Ruth is a kind and loving person who always had a smile on her face. To Bob, Donna, Debbie, Jordan, Madison and the rest of my family, you are in may prayers that God will send his angel (Ruth) to put her arms around you and give you comfort and assurance. Time will ease the pain and replace it with memories that will make you smile. She is on a new journey and will be wait to welcome you.

I grew up with Ruth, Bob, Donna and Debbie. I called Ruth “Aunt Ruth” and Bob is “Uncle Bob”. Our families shared so many wonderful times together. So many treasured memories. She was such a caring mother and family friend. Her passing is a great loss but she will continue to live on in my heart .Her life was a blessing to many. My prayers for all of you during this time of sorrow.

candle 2My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Aunt Ruth, Uncle Bob , Donna and Debbie were mainstays of my childhood. I have so many memories of our families – especially our parents playing pinochle. May God hold you in his hands during this time.

I met your mom once when she was at St Louis University. It was a surprise to me, but it was my name that clued her in. It was a great conversation. That short time with showed me how great a person she was. Sorry for the loss.

Ruth was a resident at Delmar Gardens where both my parents resided for several years. Will remember her laugh and the many conversations we had with Bob and Donna. They showed so much love for her, and were also wonderful to my parents. Sending our condolences and love. Rest in Peace Ruth.

candle 3Your mom was always so happy. I have good memories of being over at your house and everyone sitting in the living room, talking away about anything. She was always willing to help out at church and with Jobies with a smile. May you find peace and comfort as you go through this difficult time.

candle 8My heart is full of love for Ruth….she will always be my second Mom. I grew up with the Shelker family in North County and could not of imagined a better family to be a part of. Ruth,Bob,Donna and Debbie whom I consider my family to, will forever be in my heart and thoughts. Oh the memories are plenty and the love of this family to their neighbors and friends are undescribable. I will miss you Ruthy, but never forget your laugh, smile and the patients you had with my Mom who passed way to soon. Now you both can have coffee/ tea and sit and watch over all of us. Be at peace now and make sure you watch over the rest of your family and grandaughters Jordan and Madison. I cant put into words the loss everyone is feeling, but God has another Angel watching us now. All my love to you Ruthy and most of all to Bob,Donna,Deb,Charlie, Jordan and Madison.

candle 4To the Shelker & Pimentel family that I have known for 23 years. I worked with Donna & got to know the whole family over those years. God bless your family at this time & do know God is ready to take over now. Do not cry, for she is in good hands.
You’ve done a good job with her & now it’s God’s time. I pray for your family daily.
