Robert Compton

Compton, Robert, of St. Peters, MO, died on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the age of 90. Loving husband of the late Doris Compton; beloved son of the late William and Sybil Compton; devoted father of Paula (Dan) Erskine, Jacque (Jeana Embers) Compton, and Lisa (Jack) West; cherished grandfather of Shawn, Alana, Destinie, Jeremy, Jennifer, and Brittney; treasured great-grandfather of 15. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Erskine and his brother, William Compton, Jr.

Robert was a mechanical aviation engineer for over 50 years, retiring from Boeing in 2000 after 30 years of service. He had a witty and playful personality, and was a friend to everyone he met. Robert was a member of All Saints Catholic Church where he served as a lector. Robert was an avid sports fan who enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, bowling, golfing, and horse racing. Mostly Robert loved being with his family and friends, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
