Michael Shawn Stilwell

Michael Shawn Stilwell of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 58 on Wednesday, April 17, 2019. He is survived by his daughters, Tanya (Scott) Caldwell and Crystal (Richard) Bortner; his sister Sherry (Gene) Arnold  and half- sister Debbie White; his grandsons, Nickolas and Ryan Bortner; his niece and nephew, Rebecca (Travis) Barrett and Anthony Maciewski; his great-nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Jack; and his best friend he called "brother," Mark (Paula) Kohensky.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Stilwell Jr.; his parents, Homer and Vernetta Stilwell; and his brother, Roy Stilwell.

Mike was very patriotic and immensely proud of his career serving his country in the United State Navy as a submariner. Mike was a big sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball, football and NASCAR. He was always proud to cheer for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Denver Broncos.  In his younger years he was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues continuing this activity socially for many years.  Mike was a man who lived for his grandchildren and his family, going out mudding with his son-in-law was one of his favorite things to do. His friendly, outgoing personality made it so that he never met a stranger, getting to see new places and meet new people was one of his greatest joys. He will be dearly missed.
