Maurice "Bud" Hartke, of St. Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday, March 29, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Hartke; his parents, Walter Hartke and Estella (Fred) Breunig; and his sister, Marrita Strubberg.
Bud is survived by his children, Diane (Mark) Clem, Bryan (Kris Weingartner-Hartke) Hartke, Mary (Geno) Flynn, and Angela (Eric) Raffin; his grandchildren, Nick Dutkiewitz, Ben Dutkiewitz, Jessica Clem, Justin Clem, Madison Hartke, Anthony Hartke, Nina (Zachary) Rhodes, Dominic Flynn, Ella Raffin, and Jillian Raffin; and his sister, Sister Geraldine Hartke.
Bud was a veteran of the US Army and was proud of his service. He retired from a successful career in the aerospace industry at McDonnell Douglas and was a devout parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dardenne. Bud was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed the days he spent fishing or hunting out in nature. The simple pleasure of country living brought nothing but joy to Bud’s life. Bud was always handy on a project or when something needed fixing because he was never afraid of getting his hands dirty with some honest physical work. Above everything, Bud enjoyed all the times he spent with his grandkids and cherished the moments they were able to spend together over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial contributions in Bud’s name may be made to
the Alzheimer's Association.
