Matthew Ryan Hewitt

October 8, 1983 — April 18, 2020

Matthew Hewitt went to Heaven unexpectedly on April 18, 2020 at the age of 36 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident. He was a loving father and husband, hard worker, and always seemed to be able to greet his many friends with a smile. He was always the first one to crack a joke and lived life to the fullest. He was a lifelong resident of St. Charles County and a 2002 graduate of St. Charles West High School.

Matthew was born October 8, 1983 the eldest son of Kimberly and Brian Hewitt. He graduated from Ranken Technical College and obtained a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri St. Louis. For fifteen years, he worked as an electrician for Birkel Electric.

He married Kelly (Pierce) Hewitt on July 16, 2010. He was a devoted father to daughters Olivia (age 7) and Maisie (age 3). He loved his family fiercely. In addition to his wife and daughters, Matthew is survived by his brothers Nathan Hewitt (Whitney); Daniel Hewitt (Danielle); grandparents Shirley Boston-Otis and Wayne and Janet Dozier; his in-laws Derrick and Dianne Pierce; and sister-in-law Kathy Schrader (Mike). He had many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather A. LeVerne Moody.

Matthew loved everything outdoors -- especially spending time on the Pierce family farm hunting, fishing, and campfires. Spending time with family was extremely important to him and he enjoyed sharing his many hobbies. At every game he cheered on Olivia's soccer team the Holy Spirit Hawks. He always seemed to have a project going and if he didn't, he would be helping you with yours. He was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals. He also enjoyed playing baseball and football and thoroughly enjoyed cheering on the University of Notre Dame.

Matthew was truly one of the "good guys" in this world and will be missed beyond measure. A celebration of Matthew's life will take place after social distancing restrictions are lifted.
