Mary Leach

Mary Lee Wilson Leach departed this world on June 20, 2017 in O’Fallon, MO. She is now in her heavenly home. She made a profession of faith many years ago and was baptized at the age of 82 at Calvary Church in St. Peters, MO.

Mary was born May 1, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Mason and Juna Farris Wilson who preceded her in death. Her parents were both from Murray, KY. She attended school in St. Louis and graduated from McKinley High.

Mary is the beloved wife of Arthur Leach who passed away in June of 2004. Mary and Art enjoyed traveling (especially cruises), reading, music, and caring for their poodles.

Mary was a Life Master in ACBL, an International Bridge League. She played bridge for years at the Lake St. Louis Community Center of Wednesday evenings. She has enjoyed being part of Marathon Bridge at Heritage of Hawk Ridge, a retirement community in which she lived. Her friend and bridge partner was Ruth Ann Bosse. She especially enjoyed the neighborhood Bible study led by Caroline Birkner. She and her special friend, Diane Danielson, attended this Bible class along with other neighbors who enjoyed Bible study and prayer. In earlier years, she and Diane attended Bible Study Fellowship held in O’Fallon, MO.

Mary has two sisters and one brother. Mary is preceded in death by sister, Anna Mae (Calaway) Boyer and son, James. She is survived by Anna Mae and Calaway’s daughter, Linda (Jim) Curtis, their son, Jason (Jacque) and family. Mary is survived by sister, Norma Gene (Richard) Ross and their daughter, Cynthia Ann (Jerry) Stout and family. Norma and Richard Ross’ sons, Richard Lee and Dale Ross preceded Mary in death. She is also survived by her brother, George Wilson of O’Fallon, MO.

Mary and her daughter, Cynthia, lived together in Lake St. Louis. Cynthia has a son, Johnathan and 2 great-grandchildren, Miaya and Johnathan Baugh, Jr. Mary’s step-daughter, Carol (Dave) Civils, live in Baton Rouge, LA. Their children are Dana and Brooke Civils and Caroline is their granddaughter. Her closest companion was Minuit, her 10-year-old Poodle. The two had a special bond which always brightened Mary’s Day.

Mary will be buried beside her husband, Art. A private graveside service will be held at Port Hudson National Cemetery at a later date.
