Mary L. Hubbard

Mary L. Hubbard of Saint Peters, Missouri, passed away at the age of 85 on Saturday, August 8, 2020.  Loving wife of 65 years to  Kenneth Wayne Hubbard; beloved daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Dobkins; devoted mother of Susan (the late Michael) Jackson, Laura (Bob) Shamel, and Kent (Cheryl) Hubbard; cherished grandmother of Kyle (Megan) Hubbard, Hillary (Sean) Hall, Clay (Rachel) Hubbard, Crystal Schultz, Brandon Shamel, Ryan (Courtney) Shamel, Michael (Emily) Jackson, Chad Shamel, and Chloe Shamel; and treasured great-grandmother of  Mason, Kate, John Luke, Kash, Jude, Quinn, Bowie, and Meadow.

Mary retired after more than 15 years as a secretary for UM-St. Louis, where she was fondly known to many as "Mother Hubbard."  Upon retiring, she and her husband enjoyed traveling with friends and going on cruises.  They also joined up with their friends on the weekends for a few rounds of cards.

Faith was important to Mary and she treasured her weekly bible study group where she would meet with friends to share the Word and a good cup of coffee. She also liked shopping and was excited when she found a good value.

Mary truly loved family time and cherished spending time with her grandkids. She looked forward to date night every week with Kenneth, where they would catch dinner and a movie.  She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.
