Mary Ellen Grimm

Mary Ellen Grimm, of St. Charles, MO passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at the age of 95 years old. Loving wife of the late Leonard “Jim” Grimm, cherished daughter of the late Frank Padfield and Marie Oberfoell; devoted mother Robert “Bob” Grimm (Susan), Jeanne Myatt (Steve), Thomas “Tom” Grimm (Beverly), Barbara Grimm (Robert Aulbach), Nancy Saunders (Al); dear sister of the late Patricia Shannahan; beloved grandmother of 15 and treasured great-grandmother of 18.

Ellen was united in marriage with Leonard “Jim” Grimm on June 20, 1942. They spent 77 loving years together. They established Pinewoods Park in Wentzville, MO where they were the owner/operators for many years. Ellen enjoyed square dancing and was an avid bridge player. She had a passion for knitting and over the years knitted several blankets for her grandchildren and hundreds of hats for the St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Ellen was an active member of St. Joachim and Ann for over 25 years, volunteering many hours to the Care Center, and most recently, a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held January 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Joachim and Ann Care Services, 4116 McClay Rd., Saint Charles, MO 63301.
