Toebben; beloved daughter of the late Ida and Louis Wilke; devoted mother of Kevin (Martha) Toebben, Lois (Keith) Hock, and Keith Toebben; cherished grandmother of Wendy (Shane) Ridgway, Benjamin (Tabitha) Toebben, Adam Hock, Elisabeth (Kevin) Towers, Andrew (Megan) Hock, Anthony Hock, Katy Toebben, Dylan Toebben, Dalton Toebben; treasured great-grandmother of Lily, Emma, Molly, Hailey, and Lincoln (on-the-way); dear sister of Paul (the late Kathleen) Wilke, and the late Mildred (Donald) Hesskamp.
Marvalee met her one true love at the old St. Charles Lanes on Second Street, and he proposed to her on Valentine's Day in 1952. Their song through the years became ‘Sentimental Journey.’
Marvalee loved bowling and was in the St. Charles County Sports Hall of Fame. She also taught Junior League at the bowling center for many years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was very involved in the Lady’s Guild and helped serving at events. Marvalee was also a charter member of the St. Charles First Capitol Lions Club. She liked crocheting and quilting in her spare time. She was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and never missed watching a game on TV.
Marvalee will be remembered and thought of as a real saint here on earth. She was very gentle, kind, giving, loving, and sweet. She would do anything for anyone and would go out of her way for just about everyone she knew. She was very active in her social life and never met a stranger. She enjoyed being around friends, but especially loved spending time with her family. And, she made the best mac n' cheese. Marvalee was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
