Marie Louise Brugere (nee Marquitz) passed away April 22, 2018 at Mercy Hospital with her husband and loved ones by her side. She was born in Osage Hills, Missouri December 17, 1928 daughter of the late Jerome and Wilhelmina Marquitz.
Marie graduated from Notre Dame High School in St. Louis. Before she was married she was a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America in St. Louis. On June 24, 1950 she married Lester Brugere, Jr. at St. George Catholic Church in Afton, Missouri.
Marie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her job as homemaker for her family displayed love in her everyday living. She loved flowers and working in her flower beds. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and loved nature walks. She was a naturalist and taught her family how to forage for wild plums, wild persimmons, morel mushrooms, fox grapes, elderberries, and blackberries. She was a wonderful artist and loved oil and acrylic painting. She enjoyed traveling and camping and made trips with her husband, Les Jr. to Canada, Hawaii, Alaska, and many National Parks.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne, Missouri. Marie was a member of the St. Charles County 4-H and was a 4-H leader for cooking, gardening, and wild flowers.
She is survived by ger husband, Lester Brugere Jr.; daughters Marie (Greg) Antoinette Brugere-Wilson; Eileen Speer, Renee (Roger) Nath; son Lester (Christie) Brugere III; sister Lucille Stoltz; grandchildren Chris (Ivy) Moyers, Matthew Rosales, Jason (Tiffany) Speer, Ivan Brugere, Ben (Christa) Moyers, Valerie (Kyle) Moyers-Bowie; Kirsten Brugere, Alexa Brugere; great-grandchildren Micha Moyers, Marissa Moyers, Pazo Rosales, Emelia Speer; nephews David Stoltz, Dale Stoltz, Wes Stoltz, Joe Niemeyer; nieces Suzanne Stoltz, Judy McGuire, Laura McGuire, Maureen Brugere, and dear family friend Vicki Morse. She is preceded in death by her sisters Janice McGuire (nee Marquitz) and Martha Stoltz (nee Marquitz).
