Kathleen Felicity Emerson, known lovingly as Kit, was born on May 22, 2019, to her parents Bryan and Renee Emerson of O’Fallon and went to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the age of 5 months, 2 weeks and 4 days. She went straight from her parents’ arms to the arms of Jesus.
Kit was born with a severe congenital heart defect and 22q11.2 deletion syndrome and spent much of her life in the Heart Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, aside from a short six week period at home. Her soft red hair stuck straight up no matter how much the nurses combed it down, and she loved wiggling her feet and kicking even when sleeping. She was most calm when held in her mother’s arms, and she loved to hear her sisters laugh and sing.
She is survived by her big sisters Zuzu, June, Wendy, and Diana Emerson; paternal grandparents, Steve and Melinda Emerson; maternal grandparents, Ray and Beth Roberson. Also surviving are her aunts and uncles: David and Karen French, Lauren Roberson, Brandon and Amanda Emerson, and Blake and Victoria Emerson.
Our family would like to thank everyone who loved Kit through these past five months; everyone who prayed for her, brought us meals, gave us hugs. Thank you especially to the doctors and nurses at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital Heart Center--they fought so hard for Kit and were compassionate to her and to us.
Memorials may be made in Kit’s honor to
The Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation.
