If I asked my 2 daughters and my son who attended Holt High School to choose their favorite teacher, I could have expected them to choose Karen. She had a way of positively impacting students’ lives, especially those with struggles. She managed to show respect and concern for everyone, offered positive encouragement and gracious compliments, and could inject humor into situations where you might have expected her to show disappointment or displeasure. She was a wonderful, sensible guide for teens, and many of them also considered her a friend. My family is deeply saddened by her loss. Heartfelt sympathy to her family and all who loved her—that’s a mighty long list!

So sorry to hear of coach Hulls passing. She was my 8th grade track coach and she was always involved in all the school activities. Most importantly in my life, she had a profound influence on my wife (Stacey Pleis) and gave her the motivation and confidence to follow her dream of opening a gymnastics center. Karen even attended the ribbon cutting for Stacey’s Gymnastics on extremely late notice. Karen was a positive influence on literally thousands of young people. May she Rest In Peace and may her family find comfort in knowing that we are thinking of you all.

candle 3Sorry for your loss. Coach Hull/Clark taught me how to fly. She took on the task of coaching pole vault. Dont know if she had any prior experience, but researched it and did well with passing it on to us. We actually did very well. Chad Thompson qualified for state, and I just missed out. She knew just how to motivate us young men to work hard in practice by always inviting her players from her softball team to visit. For us it was more showing off than practicing. Anyway, Thanks COACH!

So sorry to hear of Your family’s loss. My best memories of Karen and all her sisters is from deer hunting at your family farm in Silex. I was in 7th. or 8th. grade and came with my uncles, Lindy and Jr. Always stopped at your house very early in morning and Helen would have coffee ready. And most of you girls would be up also just to visit. Those are very memorable times for me and stuck with me all these years. So Karen is not and won’t ever be forgotten. My daughter had Karen as a coach in high school and those two hit it off well after they found out about each other’s families. Our heart goes out to each and every one of you. You have a very wonderful family. 😊

Mom would make a big pot of chili and all of you would head to the woods no matter how cold it was. I didn’t realize Karen was your daughter’s coach. Yes, Karen had a gentle way of touching everyone she knew. We are certainly going to miss her but we know she is resting peacefully. Hugs The Dwyer Girls Sandy (#3)
