Salmeri, Jr., Joseph, of O'Fallon, MO, died on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at the age of 72. Loving husband of the late Gloria Salmeri; beloved son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Lillian Salmeri; devoted father of Barbara (Joe) Steller, Gina (Robert) Strohbeck, Gloria (Scott) Mandrell, Joseph Salmeri III, Jacob Salmeri, and John Salmeri; cherished grandfather of Anthony (Samantha) Steller, Justin Steller, Steven Strohbeck, Hannah Strohbeck, Alexandra (Eric) Gibson, Adam Mandrell, Aidan (Michael) LeCompte, Joseph Salmeri IV, Layla Salmeri; treasured great-grandfather of Hunter, Mia, Leo, Melody, Michael, and Jaxon; dear brother of Grace Howell and brother-in-law of Audrey Johnson his dear friend and caregiver. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Fullbright and Lillian Cunningham.

Joseph was a member of Local 527 Cement Masons Union and the Eagles Lodge in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He enjoyed old cars and going to car shows. Mostly he loved being with his family and friends.
