John E. Long, Jr., of Saint Charles, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at the age of 62. Loving husband of 41 years to Cathy D. Long; beloved son of the late John E. and Virginia D. Long; devoted father of Michelle Long and John E. (Keri) Long, III; cherished grandfather of Isla Long; dear brother of Marie Stedman, Cheryl (the late Tom) Schoen, and the late Sharon Munroe; dearest uncle of Robert Stedman, David Stedman, Jerry Monroe, Jackie (Richard) Pavey, Kathryn Schoen, and Harry Schoen; dear brother-in-law of Jerry Monroe.
John worked at Bi-State as a Diesel Mechanic for 13 years. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid gun collector, and liked going to the shooting range in his spare time. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. John was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
