Jesse was the beloved husband of 56 wonderful years to Marieta Celis; cherished son of the late Jesus P. and Lourdes A. Celis; devoted dad of J.B. Celis, Gina (Stephen) Hauser, and Ludy (Greg) Loeffler; loving Lolo of Jesse Hauser and Alexa Hauser; and dear Kuya of Conception Jimenez. Jesse was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jose Celis, Antonio Celis, Vincente Celis, and Victoriano Celis; and his aunt who helped raise him, Rosario Celis.
Jesse was a long-time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Cottleville and was very devoted to the Eucharistic Adoration. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. He later earned his Master’s Degree in Servomechanisms from Saint Louis University. Jesse retired in 1997 as a chemical engineer for Shell Oil after working there for 25 years. In his free time, Jesse enjoyed hunting, shooting & collecting guns, fishing, golfing, having parties with friends & family and traveling. The most special trip was for Jesse and Marieta’s 50th wedding anniversary, where they took the whole family on an Alaskan cruise to renew their vows. Jesse was also a man of service, who took both pride and joy from helping others. Most of all, he loved spending time with his amazing family. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
