Jean Ann Barnes (nee Roth), of O Fallon, MO, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Norman Barnes; first husband Robert Byers; second husband Paul Bartelme; cherished daughter of the late Merlin and Dorothy Roth; devoted mother of Teresa Ann Franklin, the late Laura Ann Bartelme, Linda Ann (Mark) Sakalauski, and Jonathan (Brandy) Bartelme, loving grandmother to Andrew Crum, Elizabeth Rotter, Asher Bartelme, Isaac Bartelme, and Olivia Bartelme; dear sister of Norma Gillham, the late Marvin Roth, the late Robert Roth, and the late Ronald Roth. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jean was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of O’Fallon, she enjoyed her ministry of music at the church. She loved taking pictures and everyone who came in contact with her was drawn in by her contagious smile and awesome laugh. No one ever had to wonder what she was thinking. . . not a shy bone in her body. When Jeannie loved- she loved with her whole heart. Jean was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Jean's name to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
