James T. Haydel, of O’Fallon, MO, died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the age of 80. Loving husband of 54 years to Frances Haydel; beloved son of the late Florian A. and Rose Haydel; devoted father of Grace (Mike) Mattei and Stephanie Haydel; cherished grandfather of Greg (Nicole) Mattei, Mark (Emma) Mattei, Lindsay Mattei, Todd Mattei, Thomas Mattei, and Garrett Mattei; treasured great grandfather of Lilliana Mattei; and dear brother of Yvonne (Ronald) Newcombe. James was also preceded in death by his siblings, Florian Haydel, Muriel Goss, and Frank Haydel.
James proudly served in the U.S. Airforce. He enjoyed building model ships, doing crossword puzzles, and watching old movies. He loved spending time with his family. He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
