James R. “Jim” Selinger

Selinger, James R. 'Jim' of Saint Peters,MO, died on Sunday December 14, 2014, at the age of 80; Loving husband of Maryellen Selinger; beloved son of the late Fred W. and Iva M. Selinger; devoted father of Robert (JoAnn) Selinger and Karen (Ben) Williams; stepfather of Jamie (Crystal) Reiter and Matt (Amy) Reiter; cherished grandfather of David (Elizabeth) Selinger, Thomas Selinger, Katharine (Matt) Rodriguez, Sydney Johnson, Madison Scott, Chase Reiter and Elliot Reiter; dear brother of Donald (Barbara) Selinger; dear brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He is preceded in death by his wife Grace and granddaughter Jennifer.
Jim was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Harvester, and also served as a Deacon and Elder. He was an active member of Auxiliary and volunteered at Barnes Jewish Hospital-St. Peters for many years. Jim was a long time resident of Springfield, IL and past member of Trinity Lutheran. He was an active member of his church and other community organizations. He enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching his beloved Chicago Cubs.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, The Alzheimer's Association or Seniors and Company.
