Irv Batchelder

Irv Batchelder of St. Charles, Missouri, passed Sunday, April 22, 2018, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Ann "Peggy" Batchelder; cherished son of the late Joseph Stephen Batchelder and Majorie McGee; devoted father of Mary Ellen (Randy Easterly) Buford, Irene (Edward) Heege, Steve Batchelder, Jay (Evelyn) Batchelder, Rob Batchelder, and Teresa (Kenny) Brauch; loving grandfather of 18; and treasured great-grandfather of 31.
Irv proudly served in the United States Air Force before returning home and dedicating more than 30 years with McDonnell Douglas – Boeing as a technical editor. He grew up in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire where he made many fond memories before settling in St. Peters, Missouri. Irv was a great baseball fan; he loved playing, coaching, and cheering on local baseball teams, especially the Braves and Cardinals. He once held the third baseman spot for his high school team. Irv was dearly loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri or American Heart Association in Irv's honor.
The family honored Irv with a private graveside service at St. Charles Memorial Gardens.
