Herschell W. Walker

April 16, 1943 — August 3, 2017

Herschell W. Walker, of Wentzville, MO, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the age of 74.  Loving husband of Diane Walker; beloved son of the late Beatrice Walker; devoted father of Norman (Christine) Mars, Nathan (Hanae) Mars, Dr. Courtney (Stinson Tillerson) Walker, Heather Walker, Nicole (James) Adams, and Christopher Walker; cherished grandfather of Alyssa, Michael, Morgan, Aidan, Avani, Kai, and Sydney; treasured great-grandfather of Mina; dearest brother of Hazel Wills, Audrey Walker, Kenneth (Gladys) Walker, and Marian (Charles) Robinson; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Herschell proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He graduated from University of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science.  He retired as a captain from University City Fire Department after more than 25 years as a firefighter.  He loved traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.  Herschell had a sweet tooth a mile long, and could usually be found with a handful of cookies or his favorite candybar.  He truly enjoyed attending his kids and grandkids sporting events.  He loved music, animals, reading, and taking his daily nap.  Herschell was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
