Gordon Lee Coffey, of Wentzville, Missouri, age 76, died peacefully at home on June 1, 2017.
Gordon was the son of Gilbert and Beulah, nee Gossage, Coffey, born on January 26, 1941 and raised in Franklin, Indiana.
He was always a hard worker, beginning in grade school, when he had a job passing newspapers on his bike. He went on to work at A & P grocery for 20 years. He then worked for US Airways for 20 years before retiring in 1991.
Gordon is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn, nee George, Coffey; five children, Susan (Walter) Winters of Greenwood, Indiana, David Coffey of Phoenix, Arizona, Lori Tuft of Paradise Valley, Arizona, James (Sue) Campbell of Wentzville, Missouri, Kimberly (Bill) Scott, of Glendale, Arizona. He is also survived by his siblings, Donald (Donna) Coffey of Greenwood, Indiana, Wanda Richards of Franklin, Indiana, and Phyllis (Ernie) Brix of Porter, Indiana. He was the proud grandfather of eleven grandchildren and great grandfather of three.
Gordon was a member of the Elks Lodge #2587 in O’Fallon, Missouri for 25 years, as well as a 54 year member of the Masonic Lodge #107 of Franklin, Indiana.
Gordon was preceded in death by both of his parents and a sister, Doris Wohn of Ames, Iowa.
